Sony and Firewalk's upcoming hero shooter is failing to get any real traction, having failed to attract players in sizeable numbers during its beta period.
The open beta adds a new map, Bone Mines, and a new mode, Area Control. Players can also unlock a new Variant for Haymar.
Excellent visuals and solid gunplay adorn Firewalk Studios' competitive shooter, but some of its ideas could use a rethink.
Several staff members are credited for PvE in the early access beta, though Firewalk hasn't officially confirmed a dedicated mode.
The upcoming hero shooter's ongoing early access beta will now end on July 15, a day later than originally planned.
The shooter's early access beta starts today at 10 AM PST on PS5 and PC for pre-orders and PlayStation Plus subscribers.
The beta goes live on July 12th, 10 AM PDT for PS5 and PC. It features four maps, three modes and 16 playable Freegunners.
The upcoming multiplayer shooter is getting its beta later this week, followed by a full release in August.

To allow "that cross-play and cross-progression to work, that's a layer that needs to be there," says Firewalk's Jon Weisnewski.

Firewalk's director of IP Kim Kreines says it's an "added layer for folks that want to invest in it" and completely optional.

The beta will give you access to the full roster of playable characters, in addition to five maps and four modes.
The Digital Deluxe Edition is $59.99 and offers cosmetic packs, 16 character skins, 72 hours of early access and much more.
The upcoming first-person shooter's Australian PlayStation Store page mentions a $59.95, which is the same price Helldivers 2 is sold at in the region.
Firewalk Studios will also provide more details on the competitive shooter's various editions when pre-orders go live on June 6th.

Firewalk Studios' (allegedly) Guardians of the Galaxy-inspired shooter will reportedly reveal some characters and gameplay "very soon."
