Rumblings of a PlayStation Showcase (or some sort of PlayStation-focused event) have been growing louder, and with the event expected to be happening sometime before the end of this month, details around what announcements it’ll bring are continuing to leak and filter through as well. Multiple previous reports have, of course, claimed that a new Astro Bot game that is due out this year will be announced at the showcase, and another prominent leaker is now stating that reveal is coming soon.
Known leaker billbil-kun has claimed in a report published on Dealabs that the next Astro Bot game is going to be announced soon. Though the leaker doesn’t mention whether it’ll be announced at a PlayStation Showcase or elsewhere, the game will allegedly be announced within the next 15 days.
As per billbil-kun, the game will be titled simply Astro Bot. Unlike past Astro Bot titles, it’s allegedly going to be a full-fledged standalone game available for PlayStation 5, and won’t support PS VR2. The leaker goes on to claim that part of the game will be set in a desert environment, and that one of the new characters it introduces will be a robot that looks like a fennec fox.
Recently, billbil-kun also claimed that Sony would soon be sharing new update on upcoming PvP shooter Concord. Prior leaks have claimed that Konami and Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake will also show up at Sony’s upcoming event.
