Bethesda has confirmed that Starfield is going to feature a whopping thousand planets for players to explore – many of which will be procedurally generated – but what level of variation and environmental diversity can we expect across all of that real estate throughout the game’s setting of the Settled Systems? Well, you’d expect the game to feature multiple different biomes across its many locations- but it seems it’s going for something that, given its scale, will be even more impressive.
Taking to Twitter via its official Italian page, Bethesda recently showed off some gorgeous new screenshot for the upcoming space-faring RPG. The accompanying text states (via DeepL) that in Starfield, “each planet will have unique biomes”- suggesting that players will find multiple different kinds of environments even within single planets. “The flora and fauna you’ll find will be a reflection of its characteristics,” the tweet adds.
Of course, given the sheer number of planets that the game will boast, it’s very unlikely that every single one of them will encapsulate multiple different biomes- though you would imagine that the so-called “main” planets that house the most handcrafted and story content will boast a much higher level of environmental variety and design.
Starfield is set to launch in the first half of 2023 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
