From releasing new videos that offer intriguing glimpses of the lore of Starfield’s world to teasing out concept art of lush and beautiful environments, Bethesda has been dropping nuggets of details on the upcoming RPG here and there these last few weeks. That said, besides its E3 reveal trailer, we haven’t really seen anything of Starfield– though director Todd Howard says that that won’t be the case for much longer.
In a Holidays greetings clip uploaded by Bethesda Game Studios on YouTube, Howard said that Starfield’s development has made solid progress in 2021, and that we’ll be seeing more of the game in 2022.
“The team has made such great progress on Starfield this year,” Howard says. “We can’t wait to show it to you next year.”
That’s about as brief as those details can get- though recently, Howard also said that the current plan at Bethesda was to show more of Starfield in summer 2022, which might suggest that the game will show up at or around E3.
Starfield is currently scheduled to launch on November 11, 2022 for Xbox Series X/S and PC. As for whether it’ll actually be able to hit the launch date, that remains to be seen- though Bethesda seems pretty confident right now that it’ll be able to do that.
