Black Myth: Wukong, Game Science’s eagerly-anticipated hack-and-slash action RPG, is still a week off. However, an official benchmark tool is now free on Steam to help prepare PC players for launch. It allows checking one’s hardware and performance for the final product while featuring various graphical options.

These can be customized, providing a preview of the final visual result. Furthermore, the developer notes that it will assist in “better identifying potential software and hardware compatibility issues” before launch.

Black Myth: Wukong went gold recently, but it’s a given that there will be a day-one patch to address any lingering issues. Whether the results of this benchmark tool will factor into said patch remains to be seen, so stay tuned for more details.

Black Myth: Wukong launches on August 20th for PS5 and PC, with the Xbox Series X/S version delayed for more polish. Check out the final trailer for fresh gameplay, including new transformations, bosses, areas, etc. You can also read our feature for more information.
