Black Myth: Wukong has looked like a proper visual stunner since it was first unveiled by developer Game Science back in 2020, and it has continued to push the envelope with its technical ambitious each time it has been shown off since then. Unsurprisingly, then, when it launches in a few months’ time, its PC version will allow you to home in on those strengths in a number of ways.

When the Soulslike action RPG releases in August, its PC version will feature support for DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction, and Full Ray Tracing (a.k.a. path tracing), Nvidia has revealed. As per the company, from environmental effects like water reflections global illumination lighting, fully ray traced shadows, and more, this will enhance Black Myth: Wukong’s visuals in a number of ways.

“Enabling Full Ray Tracing in Black Myth: Wukong sees environmental effects and detail taken to the next level,” Nvidia says. “Reflections on water reflect all surrounding detail. Water caustics add further realism, accurately rendering the refraction and reflection of light. Fully ray-traced Global Illumination ensures lighting indoors and outdoors is pixel perfect, darkening areas where light is occluded or doesn’t reach, and realistically illuminating the world by bouncing light. And in concert with the lighting system, contact hardening and softening fully ray traced shadows are cast everywhere, rendering the smallest of shadows from leaves and pebbles, and those from geometry-rich buildings, the main character, and the gigantic bosses that must be overcome.”

Check out the trailer below for a glimpse at what the game will look like with path tracing and DLSS 3.5 enabled.

Black Myth: Wukong launches on August 20 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
