Fallout 76 To Get Lots Of Developer Content Once Online Is Stable

Both Bethesda games and online titles are famous for how solid launch periods are, right?

Fallout 76

Todd Howard continues to make the rounds discussing Fallout 76 and the ambitious nature of the game. VentureBeat transcribed his Gamelab discussion hosted by Geoff Keighley, where Todd Howard is quite frank about the plans for the future of the game and how the leap into online scares the team.

According to Howard, the team has definitive plans to create their own content for the game, with a certain cadence in mind with how they do it. However, their priorities will be making sure the game is as solid as it can be first. “If everything works out perfectly with launch, which won’t be the case, we’ll be able to make a lot of content, but we know our priorities. It’s a big new thing for us,” said Howard. While the team might not be practiced at the online side, Howard is confident that they have a lot of experience in generating content and can support the game very well, once they’re over the hump.

Howard was also rather frank about the trepidation within the studio about handling an online game for the first time. “We’re scared,” he said. “How well can we make this work? We look at some other big online games, and even the people who’ve done it a lot, there’s always problems. We’re not naïve enough to think it’s going to be perfect,” he concluded. Vault 76 will open to the world when the game releases on November 14 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
