Horizon: Zero Dawn Day One Update Is Just Going To Be 250MB

Which is slightly smaller than the previously rumored 16GB.

Maybe you’ve been hearing news and reports about how Horizon: Zero Dawn has a huge, massive day one update, in excess of 16GB, thanks to the street date on the game breaking, and the multitude of leaks that has resulted from that. However, WCCFTech have reached out directly to Guerrilla Games to get clarification from them, and they have been told that the huge day one update is a lie.

“This is very incorrect information”, the studio’s managing director replied. Guerrilla Games then added on Twitter, “For those interested, Horizon Zero Dawn will receive a day one patch of around 250MB.”

250MB is, of course, substantially smaller than 16GB- and honestly, it should take a couple of minutes when you get home before the update is applied, and you’re good and ready to go. Given how obscenely and ridiculously big updates for games have been getting these days, it is good to see Guerrilla try to keep things slightly sane.
