Horizon: Zero Dawn Full Map Revealed, Is Expectedly Huge

Plus, we learn some things about the game, too.

Horizon: Zero Dawn‘s full map has been revealed, and it is, as expected, absolutely massive. The map, which leaked on NeoGAF (via GameRevolution) shows off a massive game world, with multiple different kinds of locales and settings (I count at least mountains, forests, deserts, and what may be a swamp), as well as four different colored objective markers (denoting four separate tribes in the game, perhaps?).

The main question here is whether the large map will be used meaningfully in the game- whether it will just be empty and sparse, or whether it will give players things to do, sure, but also whether it will actually be integrated into how the game plays. What we have seen so far is encouraging, and the open world looks to be a major part of the game’s mechanical core- so there is that.

Horizon: Zero Dawn will launch exclusively on the PS4 on February 28.
