During the Kingdom Hearts Second Breath concert held recently, series creator Tetsuya Nomura arrived on stage to talk about an event that took place after the official announcement of Kingdom Hearts 4 last year.

While neither Nomura nor composer Yoko Shimomura revealed any specifics about the event itself, Nomura stated that the event determined the future direction of the Kingdom Hearts series.

The conversation was translated by Twitter user Audrey, who also stated that original accounts of the conversation indicate the event being “crazyyyy”, but having since been resolved. The conversation on the subject essentially ended with Nomura telling Shimomura that they’ll talk about it backstage.

The event itself hasn’t been described as a good or a bad thing by Nomura, but his words indicate that it will have a major effect on the Kingdom Hearts franchise going forward. Fans of Kingdom Hearts are discussing the possibility of the event having something to do with Disney’s participation with the Kingdom Hearts franchise, but details are scarce and discussions are largely just fans trying to guess what this event might be.
