Mortal Kombat 1 - Takeda

NetherRealm Studios has released a gameplay trailer for the final DLC character coming to Mortal Kombat 1 – Takeda Takahashi, who debuted in Mortal Kombat X. As the son of Kenshi and a student of Hanzo Hasashi (better known as Scorpion), he arrives on July 23rd for Kombat Pack owners. Check out his first gameplay trailer below.

Armed with bladed whips, Takeda has exceptional range and can grapple to either escape danger or combo moves together. He can toss delayed explosives into the ground to launch opponents and teleport short distances for follow-up attacks. As for his Fatality, it’s pretty straightforward, as his bladed whips constrict and blend enemies to bits.

Interestingly, existing Kameo Fighters like Frost, Sektor, and Cyrax are showcased instead of Ferra (also introduced in MKX). As the final DLC Kameo Fighter, she’s out on the same day as Takeda, so stay tuned for more details on her gameplay.

Takeda’s arrival wraps Year 1 of Mortal Kombat 1’s content, but a Year 2 reveal is coming at San Diego Comic-Con on July 26th. It will allegedly include new characters like Ghostface from Scream, Noob Saibot, the T-1000 from Terminator, and more.
