Mortal Kombat 1 - Geras

NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 1 has received a new trailer, confirming another playable fighter on the roster – Geras. Working for Kronika in Mortal Kombat 11, Geras now guards the Hourglass and serves Fire God Liu Kang. However, he also warns of the latter’s peace being “compromised.”

Geras is showcased along with Sektor, who still wields his trademark hand-mounted flamethrowers as a Kameo Fighter. The former can counter and freeze enemies, attacking several times before unfreezing them (which carries the momentum of previous hits). Sand is once again his motif, much like in the previous game.

Surprisingly, the trailer showcases Fire God Liu Kang, from his various combos and X-Ray to a crazy Fatality, which involves a black hole. It’s appropriately brutal.

Mortal Kombat 1 is out on September 19th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC. Its pre-order beta runs from August 18th to 21st for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
