At SDCC, NetherRealm Studios and WB Games announced Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reignsa new story expansion for the fighting game that’s set to release later this year, and while its continuation of the story is certainly one of its biggest selling points, that’s not the only thing the expansion will bring. As teased, NetherRealm has also unveiled Mortal Kombat 1’s Kombat Pack 2, which will bring six new DLC characters to the game.

As leaks have previously claimed, Kombat Pack 2 will include three returning fan-favourite series mainstays in the form of Noob Saibot, Cyrax, and Sektor, all three of whom will be available on the day of Khaos Reign’s release in September. Additionally, Kombat Pack 2 will also bring three new guest DLC fighters in the form of T-1000 from Terminator 2, Ghostface from Scream, and Conan the Barbarian, none of whom have release dates yet.

Kombat Pack 2 will, interestingly enough, only be available as part of Khaos Reigns, which means a standalone purchase won’t be an option for those not looking to buy the story DLC and only interested in the new characters.

On top of the story expansion and new DLC fighters, Mortal Kombat 1 is also going to receive new animal-based Fatalities known as Animalities with a free update. Read more on that through here.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns launches on September 24 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
