With Mortal Kombat 11 out and much of its issues being addressed through various patches, people are now looking to the DLC characters. The only character confirmed to be part of the season pass is Shang Tsung, who also appears in the Krpyt mode in the base game. Not long before release, dataminers found some code in the Switch version that had mention of several characters attached to DLC tags. One of them was Ash Williams, the main character from the Evil Dead franchise. Since the previous game, Mortal Kombat X, had several horror-themed guest characters, it wasn’t so far-fetched. But it seems the face of the character, actor Bruce Campbell, has performed a Fatality of his own on that rumor.

As you can see below, Bruce Campbell posted a picture of himself beside a bloody pile of flesh titled “internet rumor about Ash being DLC in MK11” on Twitter. If that wasn’t enough, the message also has in bold letters that the actor debunks the rumor. Unless Campbell is playing a game of damage control for the leak, it looks like we can file this under false for now.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. If you’re bummed out by the news, Ash Williams did recently pop up in video game form, being added last month to Dead by Daylight.
