Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

We finally got our first look at footage for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Not gameplay, mind you, but an in-engine story trailer showcasing protagonist Cal Kestis (played by Shameless star Cameron Monaghan). Combat was discussed on the panel, specifically how players need to carefully approach foes and measure their strengths and weaknesses. However, more alaso information has emerged via the Microsoft Store listing for the game.

Leveraging an “innovative lightsaber combat system” to strike, parry, and dodge enemies, players will also be able to use different Force powers to their advantage. As the listing notes, “This combat system is intuitive to pick up, but takes training and practice to fully master its nuances as you gain new powers and abilities along your adventure.” It also seems that leaks of Cal working with a mentor figure, who is the former Jedi Knight Cerses, are also true.

As for locations, you can expect to see, “Ancient forests, windswept rock faces, and haunted jungles.” More interesting is the fact that players have the freedom “to decide when and where you go next. As you unlock new powers and abilities, opportunities open up to re-traverse maps in new ways; leveraging the Force to augment the way you explore.” You’ll need to move quickly though, since the Empire and its Inquisitors are out to get you.

The Microsoft Store listing also has some information on Xbox One X support. Along with Xbox One X Enhanced support, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will also support 4K Ultra HD resolution, HDR10, and a “Variable Refresh Rate”. The title is out on November 15th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
