In its continuing coverage of Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, IGN First spoke to design director Jason de Heras and production director Kasumi Shishido to learn about its enemies. Cal Kestis has some new tricks up his sleeve but also faces even more threats in his journey. From the outset, you can expect plenty of Separatist Droids.

There are the B1 Battle Droids who serve as “fodder” enemies on Kobh and attack in relatively large groups. Like the films, their banter will be funny, so that should be entertaining enough on its own. The B2 Droids are the bruisers and require more hits while attacking with blasters and missile launchers. Force Pull their missiles to turn the tables.

The BX Droids are more agile and fight from close range using Vibro Swords, while Droideka, the so-called “destroyer droids” have bubble shields and heavy blasters. The IG-100 Magna Guard is considered a “Superior Elite” which serves as a bodyguard for General Grievous and can fight toe-to-toe with a Jedi.

The DT Sentry Droid is another brute and hails from Star Wars Rebels. There are three variations with a staff, missile, hammer and blaster available. They’re pretty lethal, and Shishido said the first encounter should be an “oh s**t” kind of moment, while De Heras confirmed it keeps coming, even after losing a limb. The KX Security Droid Enforcer from Fallen Order returns, but this one will attack more with a stun baton. Finally, on the human side is the Shield Tropper, a Scout Trooper with a bit more defense…until you Force Pull their shield and launch it right back.

Check out the artwork for all these enemies below, courtesy of IGN. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is out on April 28th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, and this is only a “small sample size” of enemy types, with wildlife, Bedlam Raiders, and imperialists opposing Cal.
