Bethesda Game Studios has made it abundantly clear that it plans to keep up support for Starfield for years to come, with the sci-fi RPG having received plenty of updates (the most recent of which added DLSS support) in the aftermath of its launch, and development on DLC also underway. In fact, it seems like a vast chunk of the developer’s workforce is still focusing on working on the game above its other projects.

As spotted by PCGamesN, in a recent interview with Wired, director Todd Howard revealed that about 250 people across Bethesda Game Studios – more than half of the 450 the developer employs in total – are still working on Starfield. “You’re talking to me, but there’s 450 people here. We still have people that work on [Fallout] 76, we have about 250 on Starfield,” Howard said.

Howard has previously said that over the coming years, Starfield will receive “a lot of add-on content” of “varying sizes”. Though the full extent of those plans is currently unclear, we do know that the first expansion will be called Shattered Space. It remains to be seen when it will launch, however. Meanwhile, the game is also set to receive full mod support sometime in 2024.

Even though Starfield remains the game that the bulk of Bethesda Game Studios seems to be focusing on, working on The Elder Scrolls 6 is also ramping up, with the fantasy RPG having entered full production earlier this year.

Starfield is available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Read our review of the game through here.
