The PS5 would include an instant game access system called Activities

A new feature for the upcoming PlayStation 5 console has been leaked that will apparently allow gamers to jump into specific parts of the games almost instantly.

The feature, called Activities, was first reported by a Spanish media, GameReactor Spain, translated by The Sixth Axis. Game Reactorthe preview of, which has since been taken offline and archived, focused on the upcoming racing game WRC 9: World Rally Championship.

According to the report, the Activities feature can be used as “an instant deep link to specific races directly from the console menu.” This means that players will be able to instantly load specific game missions, modes or activities directly from the console home screen without having to start the game.

The description of the feature seems to correspond to a patent filed by Sony in March. The patent also suggests that the feature could display dynamic content such as a trophy or a friend’s play activity, as well as the ability to start players directly in relevant content.

The Activities feature also corroborates a description of the PS5 operating system by architect Mark Cerny. Talk to Wired in October of last year, Cerny noted that the next-gen console will feature a revamped interface that will allow players to boot directly into multiplayer games and view online activities that can be joined in real time.

“Even though the games will start up pretty quick, we don’t want the player to have to start the game, see what happens, start the game, see what happens. The multiplayer game servers will provide the console with all the activities that can be reached in real time, ”noted Cerny.

“Single-player games will provide information like what missions you might do and what rewards you might receive for completing them – and all of those choices will be visible in the UI. As a player, you just jump into this. whatever you want, ”he said.

In other PlayStation news, a PS5 version leak hints at the possibility of hardware customization options, with facades that will apparently be put in place.
