Nokia-branded game controller spotted online – Phandroid

Nokia isn’t particularly known for producing gaming phones, let alone gaming accessories. But that doesn’t seem to have stopped the telecom giant from trying. New information online indicates the existence of an upcoming gamepad bearing the Finnish brand’s banner.

A BT SIG certificate spotted by the good folks at Nokiamob indicates that a Bluetooth gaming accessory, directly called “Nokia Game Controller”, is in the works and may be released in the future. Of course, since no announcement has been made by Nokia regarding upcoming hardware at this time, we’ll have to wait and see if that product sees the light of day.

What is interesting is that the controller is developed in partnership between Nokia and StreamView, an Austrian company. Previously, StreamView worked on the launch of Nokia-branded OLED and LDC TVs, as well as smart TV boxes.

This news follows recent reports that Nokia may introduce other upcoming products to its portfolio, including several new laptop models, a wireless headset, and even a subscription service. Given the lack of official press releases from the company regarding these products, it’s highly expected that Nokia can at least reveal some of them during IFA 2022, which is due to take place September 2-6 in Germany.
