Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville was the # 1 downloadable game in EMEAA last week

FIFA 20 is the best-selling game in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australia for the fourth week in a row.

The soccer game was the most popular physical title of the week and the second most popular download.

The closest competitor in the combined table is another EA game: Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. The game was a big digital hit and actually dethroned FIFA 20 as the most downloaded game of the week. It didn’t perform as well in physical retail, only managing to reach 9th place.

Indeed, behind FIFA, the big players in physical retail were Nintendo’s Ring Fit Adventure at # 2 and a resurgence of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at # 3 by CD Projekt. The Witcher 3 has been boosted by the new Nintendo Switch version of the game.

Nintendo doesn’t share download numbers with graphics, although Ring Fit Adventure was actually only available at boxed retail due to the need for a physical accessory. In the combined chart, Ring Fit Adventure was actually at # 4.

The digital sales of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are not included, and therefore in the combined table the game has become No.6.

Typically this time of year, the charts are inundated with big AAA releases. Still, it’s a quieter year than we’re used to, and there are games that are making their way to the early parts of the charts thanks to some digital discounts. Total War: Warhammer II moved up 316 spots to rank 10th, for example. Meanwhile, Cities: Skylines sits in 13th place, dropping from 207th place.

Here are the top-selling games by units (digital and physical combined) in the EMEAA region for the week ending October 20, 2019:
